Volunteers

Between August 2000 and March 2005 3535 days of volunteer time were given to the management and improvement of Gower commons. This volunteer time is made up with input from the Gower Commoners Association, National Trust volunteers and working holidays, educational groups and community volunteers.

Without the valuable contribution that volunteers make, the Gower commons would be noticeably different. Here are just some of the activities that volunteers get involved with:

  1. practical work such as clearing rhododendron and scrub from commons and also building steps and bridges
  2. carrying out wildlife surveys
  3. helping with public events to raise awareness about the commons
  4. helping out in the office
  5. reporting illegal activities on the commons

If you would like to get involved there are many opportunities to help and to meet like-minded people.
